    Kyoto/Neuss, 25 August 2010 — Kyocera Corporation announced that use of company’s uniquely developed synthetic opal material — called “Kyoto Opal” in the Japanese market — has further been expanded to the new design of Casio Computer Co., Ltd.’s GLS-5600KL G-Shock brand watches which are slated for global sales.     First use for unique gemstone material in a decorative application

    Kyoto/Neuss, 23 March 2010 — Kyocera Corporation today announced that the company’s recrystallized ruby — also known as ‘created ruby’ — has been employed for the first time in a decorative design application as watch parts. Previously the company’s original crystal technology, which produces synthetic gemstones with crystalline structures identical to naturally occurring gemstones, was only used for traditional jewelry applications. more

    Kyoto/ Neuss - Kyocera Corporation (NYSE:KYO)(TOKYO:6971) today announced that its custom-designed ceramic vacuum chambers are being used in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) operated by the European Organisation for Nuclear Physics (CERN) near Geneva. In the largest scientific experiment ever undertaken, protons fed into the LHC through Kyocera’s ceramic vacuum chambers quickly reach speeds of up to 299,792 km per second – just below the speed of light – in the world's largest particle accelerator. more
