More powerful successor to award-winning Kyocera solar module

Kyocera solar module wins two awards in 2006

Esslingen/Neuss – Evidence for the success of the Kyocera FL120-1A solar module came with the European and Swiss Solar Awards for 2006. As of now, an even more powerful frameless successor is available with the type FL130T-1A. As well as an increased output of about 10 per cent, the new model also guarantees further benefits for the energy-conscious house builder.

The photovoltaic plant equipped with Kyocera FL120-1A modules installed on a building at the Aeberhard family's farm in Barberêche, Switzerland, has a roof area of 960 m² and generates more than 105,000 kilowatt-hours per year. Therewith the award-winning plant supplies approximately three times as much energy as the agricultural facility needs. Schweizer Metallbau supplied the SOLRIF system to fasten the modules. Blending superbly into the surrounding countryside, the agricultural building and the solar plant are a model of harmony between high-tech and farming tradition.
As of now, the successor to the prize-winning FL120-1A solar module is available. The new Kyocera FL130T-1A module has 36 solar cells, a module efficiency of 12.7 per cent and a nominal output of 130 watts.
The cells of the Kyocera FL130T-1A module are embedded between a hardened glass covering (TÜV-tested for resistance to hailstones in accordance with IEC 61215) and an EVA foil. On the rear the modules are sealed with PET foil and promise a high-grade continually usable roof surface that is low on repairs and maintenance.
