Yoshiaki Onishi appointed new President

Change of management at KYOCERA MITA Europe

08 April 2011

A change of management took place at KYOCERA on 1 April: Yoshiaki Onishi has been appointed the new President of KYOCERA MITA Europe. His predecessor Takashi Kuki is returning to Japan to assume the position of Senior General Manager in the Sales division.

Yoshiaki Onishi has been Vice-President of KYOCERA MITA Europe for the last three years and the company is expected to enjoy continual growth under his leadership. “This is the start of an extremely exciting time for me”, commented Onishi. “We have ambitious revenue targets and the company needs changes and speed to achieve these. We are already enjoying success in the MDS sector and hope that our new, innovative A3 MFP product range, which will be launched this summer, will create excellent opportunities for us in the market.” This launch is particularly strengthening KYOCERA’s product range in the colour sector. Furthermore, entry level multi-functional devices for DIN A4 and DIN A3 were rolled out back in February and are already proving extremely popular in the market.

Onishi studied mechanical engineering before beginning his career in 1978 at Yashica, a camera manufacturer which was purchased by KYOCERA in 1983. He then worked for KYOCERA in the printer segment, including spending three years at the printer production plant in France in the 1990s and thus gaining his first experiences of the European market at an early stage. From 2004 until his appointment as Vice-President of KYOCERA MITA Europe in 2008, Onishi was General Manager for IT at KYOCERA MITA.

Takashi Kuki returns to Japan

Takashi Kuki was appointed as the former President of KYOCERA MITA Europe in July 2004. In his new role of Senior General Manager, he will manage the Corporate Sales Division of the KYOCERA Corporation.
