The premium model in KYOCERA's ECOSYS colour laser printer range is now the FS-C5400DN. It delivers documents at a rate of 35 pages per minute, which not only makes it the fastest laser printer in this brand new product range, but also the printer with the highest paper capacity thanks to several optional paper cassettes. In best KYOCERA tradition, the FS-C5400DN also generates exceptionally low printing costs.
With the addition of the FS-C5400DN, KYOCERA's compact ECOSYS printer range will consist of four systems from this summer onwards. Like the other products in the range – the FS-C5100DN, FS-C5200DN and FS-C5300DN – the new FS-C5400DN is based on KYOCERA-patented ECOSYS technology. Thanks to the unit's extremely durable components, the only consumable it uses is toner. This, and the printer's high toner capacity, ensures minimum printing costs, even when colour documents are printed.
In an elegant and compact design by F.A. Porsche, the FS-C5400DN was designed for use in business environments and satisfies all modern quality requirements. With a print speed of 35 pages per minute in black and white and colour, it is an interesting option for customers with high productivity requirements or print volumes. The central features include high print speed and paper feed capacity of up to 2,650 sheets, plus a paper-out tray that holds 500 sheets. The FS-C5400DN is equipped with a powerful 733-MHz-processor and 256 MB RAM, which can be expanded by 1 GB of RAM, as well as an optional 40 GB hard disk for extensive document management needs. Duplex function and network capability are also standard features of the FS-C5400DN.
The ECOSYS colour laser printer has MultiBit technology for up to 9,600 dpi print quality, which enables the print out of 16 grey tones. The FS-C5400DN also has an extended colour space for more vivid colours and a trapping function for the precise printing of texts on coloured backgrounds.

The ECOSYS printer's new controller technology not only ensures fast data processing, it also provides optimum protection against unauthorised access to confidential documents through a range of security features. These features include SSL encryption, interface blocking and user restriction through IP filter. Improved USB Host support also enables system access without a PC.

The printer casing contains no harmful halogens such as chlorine, fluorine, iodine or bromine, and the motherboard and cabling is entirely lead-free. If the duplex unit which is integrated as a standard feature is consistently used, paper consumption can be reduced by up to 50 percent. KYOCERA uses eco-friendly recycled board to package the printers and toners instead of polystyrene.
