New FS-6970DN completes the black and white printer family
The updated ECOSYS A3 workgroup printer has arrived

In February, KYOCERA launched the updated A4 workgroup models in its successful black and white office printer range. Now the output specialist has rounded off the product range with the FS-6970DN, a compact A3 printer. During the update process, KYOCERA focused on faster print speed, enhanced operating convenience and comprehensive security features.
The FS-6970DN is designed for team use and replaces its predecessor, the FS-6950DN. The most important new features of this compact A3 printer are its improved functionality, faster print speed and its new design. With up to 6 paper trays it offers unmatched flexibility for the use of different paper formats and media types. It is suitable for all the A3 document printing requirements, for instance of users such as tax consultants and auditors.
A comprehensive range of new features
The FS-6970DN prints A4 documents at a rate of 35 pages per minute, has a 600 MHz CPU and 128 MB RAM for maximum productivity. Further central features of the new ECOSYS printer are a standard platform concept and integrated duplex unit, plus network capability. This provides users with a wide range of new security and management options. For example, sensitive documents can be more effectively protected from unauthorised access by encryption and authentication. The FS-6970DN's tools range from the monitoring and control of diverse network elements (SNMPv3) through encryption protocols (SSL) to security protocols in IP networks (IPsec) and authentication standards in computer networks (IEEE802.1x).
For efficient job management a command centre with new design offers easy functionalities for checking and deletion of print jobs . Connecting a USB flash memory device to the printer gives direct access to the stored PDF and TIFF files. This enables fast printing even without the need to connect a PC.

Better operability through new design
Like the other models in this range, the FS-6970DN's design sets it apart from its predecessors. A midnight blue tray ensures the faster perception of printed documents. Information visibility has also been improved through the re-positioning of the LED status bar. The new ECOSYS FS-6970DN printer will be on sale at retail outlets on 15 June 2009.
