New ECOSYS colour printers from KYOCERA

Make autumn even more colourful

26 November 2008

The Japanese printer and copier manufacturer KYOCERA is launching a trio of ECOSYS colour laser printers on the market this autumn. The newly developed FS-C5100DN, FS-C5200DN and FS-C5300DN not only fulfil the most exacting economy and productivity requirements but also set application and quality standards with the latest controller technology and new spherical toner.

The use of colour devices has increased steadily in recent years, and lower prices that suit the customer are not the only reason. More and more companies, offices and property consultants have come to appreciate the advantages of colour printing for printing brochures or drawing up reports, presentations and exposés. To fulfil the customers enhancing requirements of quality, cost efficiency and productivity requirements the Japanese printer and copier manufacturer KYOCERA has launched a new product range of A4 colour laser printer range. “From the business entry-level FS-C5100DN to the FS-C5300DN workgroup printer we now provide, with the new devices, the right solution at the highest level for every requirement,” says Berthold Hurtz, Product Manager Print, European Marketing Center, KYOCERA MITA. “The three new systems stand for flexible applications, a high level of reliability and tack sharp print quality in colour and monochrome.”

Fast, reliable and economical
The newly designed business models replace the successful FS-C5015N, FS-C5025N and FS-C5030N generation of colour printers. In an elegant, compact design by F. A. Porsche they were made to meet modern quality requirements for use in the most varied environments. The key performance features include – in addition to a print speed of 21 to 26 ppm in colour and black and white – network capability and duplex printing as standard. This means the new printers can either sit right at the user’s desktop or be used by teams or the entire department. A paper capacity of up to 2,150 sheets in the case of the FS-C5300DN ensures highest productivity even when printing brochures in colour.

Excellent print quality is assured by an enhanced colour spectrum, the new, improved spherical toner, a 9,600 dpi equivalent resolution and a new colour management function. Colours and characters come out of the printer looking even stronger and sharper. Even a company’s corporate colours, which are often hard to reproduce, can thereby be incorporated into everyday working documents in this way. Numbers and characters are printed even more sharply in Word documents or PowerPoint presentations too. In addition, continuous calibration and automatic cleaning ensure consistent quality. And anyone who wants to run all aspects of day-to-day office work through a colour printer will be delighted with the systems’ paper tray for special media.
Thanks to Kyocera’s patented ECOSYS technology and its extremely long-life components the new colour printers, like the output specialist’s other laser printers, use toner as their only consumable. As a result, the systems work extremely economically.
State-of-the-art functionalities and environmental compatibility

The new A4 colour laser printers belong to the first product generation with the new controller. They not only process data faster but protect confidential documents such as court paperwork or company and personnel information optimally from prying eyes or unauthorised access by means of a wide range of security options. Improved USB support also permits access to the system without a PC.

Along with productivity and cost effectiveness the new colour laser systems stand for improved environmental compatibility. The printer casing of the new devices contains no harmful halogens such as chlorine, fluorine, bromine and iodine, and the motherboard and wiring are entirely lead-free. By using the standard duplex unit consistently, paper consumption can be reduced by up to 50%. To package the printer and toner kits KYOCERA also uses environment-friendly recycled cardboard instead of polystyrene. The long life of the printer unit’s components means that toner is the only consumable, and the waste produced when changing toner cartridges is thereby kept to a minimum.
