OPTIMUM READABILITY IN ALL CONDITIONS – KYOCERA DISPLAY GROUP PRESENTS THREE NEW SUPER HIGH BRIGHTNESS MODULES

04 March 2014

Kyoto / Neuss – The Japanese technology group Kyocera, one of the leading manufacturers of electronic products, has expanded its product range to include three new LCDs that feature wide 170° horizontal and vertical viewing angles and extreme brightness of 1200cd/m², making them suitable for almost any interior or exterior application.

The extended temperature range, high brightness (Super High Brightness (SHB)) and extremely wide viewing angle (Advanced Wide View (AWV)) of the new 8.4”, 10.4” and 12.1” SVGA LCD modules make them particularly suitable for applications under unusual conditions, such as in marine shipping. In the maritime sector, it is particularly important that instruments can be read from all directions, even in bright sunshine. The wide operating temperature range of -30°C to +80°C further underscores the broad scope of applications for the displays in demanding environments.

The modules include a built-in LED driver that allows easy integration into existing systems – as a result, the backlighting requires no additional components. The LVDS interface also ensures easy control. An evaluation kit based on Raspberry is also available.

The new LCD modules are particularly suited to shipping, industrial and medical applications. Moreover, the products’ characteristics are complemented by long-term market availability and local technical support from Kyocera, which adds particular value for the user.
