Background

The industrial LCD market requires a long-term and stable supply system and quality assurance. Kyocera focuses on LCDs for industrial applications as a key market in its LCD business and has a lineup for both STN and TFT LCDs. Nowadays, industrial equipment manufacturers are also facing demands for LCDs with higher resolution that are capable of displaying more information, as a means of adding more value to their products.
In response, Kyocera has developed a 5.7-inch industrial VGA LCD which offers higher resolution by quadrupling the processing capacity of the conventional QVGA type. This new V-Series LCD complies with the RoHS Directive, and is compatible with Kyocera’s lead-free LED backlight.

Features

1. High-definition VGA display

Kyocera has developed a VGA display (resolution 640 x 480 dots) with four times higher resolution in a 5.7-inch display. This enables the display of a much more information on a single screen.

2. Eco-friendly product

The 5.7-inch VGA TFT LCD complies with the RoHS Directive, the European Union’s Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances which comes into force on July 1, 2006, and is compatible with lead-free LED backlight.

3. Symmetrical frame with the width of the surrounding frame narrowed

The design features reduced dead space around the module, and the viewing area is centered horizontally within the outline.  This allows for more compact equipment and gives equipment designers more latitude.

4. Outer designs shared by the V-Series

This 5.7” VGA product is mechanically compatible with the conventional 5.7-inch QVGA V-Series models. This means that equipment manufacturers can upgrade or offer differentiated products without changing the designs of their equipment.
